Seacoal - Chris Killip

Chris Killip first tried to capture images of Seacoal Beach in Lynemouth, Northumberland, England, in 1976. However, it took him six years to earn the trust of the locals who worked there. From 1982 to 1984, he lived intermittently in a caravan at Lynemouth’s Seacoal camp, deeply immersing himself in their daily struggles for survival.
